The Impact of Artificial Intelligence

Anthony Carter Jr led a group of five of his peers to create a documentary that sparked a conversation on campus, in offices, and different industries about to what extent should artificial intelligence be allowed in these spaces.

While leading his group, Carter was the primary Researcher, director editor, and co-producer.

Carter created a concept that included interviewing two artists in a well-known recording studio in Miami, Florida. He also interviewed two experts to create a balance of fact and opinion.

So What is This About?

RISE OF AI is a documentary about the impact of artificial intelligence within the music industry. This comes at a time when AI as we know it is evolving at a rapid pace. However, how artificial intelligence is used in different spaces is a universal topic.

Carter does not take all the credit for this master piece of a documentary. After brainstorming as a group, Carter and his peers agreed to a topic about the music industry. In collaboration with one of his group members, Carter merged ideas to create the impact of artificial intelligence within the music industry.

Featuring

Kailyn Auplan is a contemporary artist who experiments with different genres of music to tell her story. She had strong feelings about why she would never use AI to help her write any of her music.

Dr. Jacob Sudol is a musician, composer, and associate Professor at Florida International University. He refers to artificial intelligence as a predictive language model. He feels that some people give it human-like characteristics and don't truly understand what it is.

Brandon Menard is a CEO and artist who has a neutral stance on how artificial intelligence is used within the music indusrty. Because he has built a platform that allows fans to invest in artists, he understands the innovation required for industries to continue to grow.

Dr. Jessica Kizorek is somewhat a spokesperson for the use of artificial intelligence. She encourages her students to understands the ins and outs of how to use AI generated tools because it is a part of the industry rather we like it or not.

Scripting

Carter drafted and a refined a script that moderated the flow of each interview. He made sure the questions were created from factual information by doing research on the topic. Carted refined the script to make sure that the conversation was natural and not teleprompted.

Camera Operator

Carter used his four years of experience behind the camera to add depth to each shot. He setup his camera to match each environment to assure that the shots were pleasing to the eye. The shots included b-roll and interviews captured at different angles and illuminated with varying lighting sources.

Editing and Sound Design

Carter created a kinetic edit that intercut between the interview and b-roll. The entire edit is created based on his vision, but refined based on the critiques from his group members. The edit included an elaborate sound design as Auplan and Menard expressed themselves through their artistry.
